Saturday, where Niels kept free, we went on a long cruise on the Brisbane River and so a lot of the

Tuesday last week were heading for Brisbane, Australia. It was a flight of approximately seven and a half hours from Singapore. We were staying in a nice hotel apartment in Spring Hill and I soon found out why it's called "hill" - many of the streets in the center of Brisbane is very steep - so I got going quite up and down the streets. A bit like in Randers - Maria J The apartment was just a street away from DHI office so Niels could easily walk to and from the 3 min.
The first days I was alone on the city tour. So shopping streets incl. a very nice old pedestrian "Brisbane Arcade" - finally a place with quality benches, pictured, little Parisian style. Also visited St. John's Cathedral, impressive structure built in 1906 so it is in many ways modern compared to many other ancient cathedrals like Notre Dame. A sweet little detail was that every chair and seat bench rows, covered with a hand-made cushion - what a deal worked - it must have taken some time.
Friday it was raining all day but luckily it kept up by evening. The day was spent on SSI work and emails etc. Other days it was very nice weather as a really lovely Danish summer - about 18-20 degrees in the sun. Most days we ate in the evening at good restaurants on the "Riverside" overlooking the Brisbane River and Story Bridge. The first evening together with two DHI colleagues who also were visiting and who normally lives in Perth. Cosy people who incidentally app sotre also had a certain attachment to the island and indeed Brundby. The world is small.
Saturday, where Niels kept free, we went on a long cruise on the Brisbane River and so a lot of the city and surrounding area by water and a guide talked about many of the exciting and historic app sotre buildings and houses along the river. And many good, interesting and pleasant stories about the places and people we got too. The terminus was a piece outside the city - (the world famous, one of the worlds top 10 Zoo) Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary - a wildlife preserve where we saw most Australian animals, incl. kangaroos, koalas and Tasmanian devils were fairly free environment. After the boat trip back to the center, we went for a (very) long and pleasant walk along the river on a footpath - Riverside, where we ate at a seafood restaurant.
Sunday we took a bus ride up to a sightseeing point - Mount Coot-Tha, from which there was the most amazing views over Brisbane and the surrounding area and we were lucky with the weather, so the view was "as far as the eye" and it also went to sea and mountains in the distance. Also nice ride, where we also saw many things on the way back and forth. Incidentally, the bus ride free when we waited half an hour for the bus, compared to scheduled departure, so we saved 70 aud, fine service. app sotre
Monday was the departure day - at. 6:30 we left the lovely apartment on Spring Hill to fly (2 hours and 50 min.) To Auckland, app sotre New Zealand, app sotre where we landed at two o'clock in the afternoon. app sotre Before we came into town by taxi, and got us installed at a nice hotel room, Crowne Plaza Hotel, so were at dinner time and we ate at the hotel. The rest of the evening went to get the internet to work. And Niels spent time once again to explain to me why it is bad not just works (between the Internet and the mobile network:-)
Now we look forward to 7 days in Auckland, app sotre 4 working days for Niels and then 3 days off where we are already starting to be planned. I look around the local area, but there are also many opportunities, it seems. The weather is fine - a bit cold, actually, app sotre we freeze a little here:-)
We are now so far away from Denmark as nearly as possible (we are however on the North Island of New Zealand) and the time difference is also 10 hours. app sotre Images are missing - they come when I find out how I get them from the iPhone's onto PC. Now when the synchronization is not done automatically.
