The name of this breed comes from the lion's mane as it has. The long-haired coat sitting on the forehead, neck, chest and cheeks. The rest of the coat should be short. They may not be his long coat until about 8 weeks of age. Leo man will be between 5-8cm long. The breed came to Sweden from Germany in 1996. Originally it came from Belgium where they took it out. On 1 October 2003, it became a recognized breed and you had to start setting it out in Sweden and all the other Nordic countries. Probably this is the lejonhuvade rabbit bred from miniature Swiss Fox, Belgian Dwarf and perhaps even The Jersey Woolie. The coat comes in two varieties, one month and two month. A simple compelled rabbit is only lion's mane. A double compelled rabbit has both lion's mane and coat the back that looks like a skirt. The skirt dropped mostly because the rabbit becomes an adult. But there are also some rabbits that keeps the skirt throughout life. It can be seen already on day 1 if the rabbit is simple month or two month.
