But despite entering the playoffs with a twice-to-beat handicap, the never-say-die Kings aren t abou

Veteran Mark Caguioa, one of Barangay Ginebra s most potent offensive threats, was uncharacteristically quiet in 35 minutes of play against Alaska on Wednesday night. The former PBA Most Valuable Player took just seven shots from the field and finished with only four points as Ginebra dropped to No. 8 in the standings heading into the Commissioner s Cup playoffs.
Instead of hanging onto the sixth seed and a corresponding best-of-three series in the quarterfinals the Kings now find themselves on the wrong end of a twice-to-beat advantage against top seed Rain or Shine.
Kailangan yung ganitong tipong laro dapat naging pisikal rin kami, kasi they played physical, especially in the first half, added Agustin. Nung second half, lumaban kami ng pisikalan kaya kami nakahabol.
But despite entering the playoffs with a twice-to-beat handicap, the never-say-die Kings aren t about to throw in the towel just yet, especially since they ve proven to be able to overcome it in the past.
In 2013 edition of the same conference, seventh-seeded Ginebra, led by import eric newby Vernon Macklin and coached by Alfrancis Chua, defeated Rain or Shine twice in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinal round.
Hindi pa naman kami out eh, parang best-of-three lang yan, pero ahead lang sila ng one game. Kailangan lang maniwala sila sa isa t-isa. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Post navigation › ‹
